Xeno

Existential, Exploration, Survival

Prolog

Shadows breathe in light, Fragments of the past remain, Footsteps lost in time.

In the endless expanse of space, humanity has reached beyond the stars, only to discover the horrors that lurk in the void. In Xeno, you and your crew are trapped aboard a derelict space station or isolated spacecraft, drifting through the unknown. What was once a marvel of human achievement is now a crypt filled with danger and dread. Something is out there—or in here—with you. It moves through the shadows, its presence felt but rarely seen, gnawing away at your sanity. Resources are dwindling, trust is failing, and survival is not guaranteed.

Will you unravel the dark mysteries that have brought you to the edge of oblivion, or will you succumb to the cold silence of space? Every decision you make could be your last.

Personal

Xeno

World

The frame of Xeno takes place in a future where humanity has expanded into deep space, colonizing distant planets and constructing massive space stations. This vast, inhospitable environment is both awe-inspiring and terrifying. The galaxy is largely uncharted, filled with cosmic anomalies, hostile worlds, and alien life forms that defy comprehension. Yet, it’s not the unknown that’s your greatest enemy—it’s what you bring with you.

The universe is indifferent. Space is a cold, airless vacuum where life is fragile, and help is light-years away. Here, survival depends on mastering technology, managing scarce resources, and maintaining your grip on reality as you face cosmic horrors beyond human understanding.

Society

In this frame, the societal aspect is deliberately minimal. Players are isolated from the larger structure of human civilization. What little you know about the world outside your ship or station is fragmented and unclear, coming through sporadic, unreliable communications. You’re part of a small, close-knit crew, and each person’s survival depends on their cooperation—or treachery. Paranoia creeps into every interaction as crew members question each other’s loyalty, sanity, or intentions.

Technology

Humanity has achieved remarkable advancements: faster-than-light travel, artificial gravity, and advanced robotics. However, in Xeno, technology is both a blessing and a curse. The cutting-edge systems keeping you alive are also prone to failure, corruption, or sabotage. A malfunctioning life support system could spell doom just as quickly as a lurking monstrosity.

Much of the equipment is worn, old, and jury-rigged—constant repairs are necessary to keep it operational. Meanwhile, the threat of an insidious force, corrupting both technology and minds, looms over every decision.

Stories

  • The Derelict: Your team is sent to investigate a space station that went dark years ago. As you explore, you realize the crew has vanished, and the station seems to be haunted by an unseen presence.
  • The Plague: A mysterious sickness spreads through your crew, causing paranoia and violent hallucinations. Are you infected, or is something else inside the ship?
  • The Signal: You receive a strange transmission from an unknown part of space. When you go to investigate, reality begins to warp, and time itself becomes unstable.
  • Escape: After a catastrophic event, your ship is drifting in deep space, and it’s only a matter of time before your life support systems fail. You must find a way to repair the ship—or each other—before it’s too late.

Bow of the Whispering Leaf

This bow is carved from the heartwood of an ancient forest, its limbs flexible yet unyielding. When drawn, the string hums with the voice of the wind through the trees, and arrows fired become invisible to all but the most attuned.
“In silence, it sings; in flight, it disappears, as the forest hides all secrets in its rustling embrace.”
