Eidurn

– The Broken Sanctum

Perched high in the desolate mountains, Eidurn was once a sanctuary of stone and devotion. Now it lies broken, its towering walls crumbling and exposed to the biting winds. Shadows cling to its ruined chambers, while whispers of past prayers seem to drift between the jagged stones. The air is thin, and the surrounding peaks loom like silent sentinels.

Points of Interest

1. The Prayer Hall
A vast, open chamber with shattered columns and a fractured mosaic floor. The remnants of a mural depict celestial figures, their faces scraped away by time—or intent. A faint golden glow lingers in the cracks of the floor when the sun hits just right.

2. The Shattered Bell Tower
The remains of a bell tower rise defiantly against the sky. The bell itself lies split at the base, its surface etched with strange, spiraling patterns. Climbing to the top reveals a stunning view, but a persistent feeling of being watched grows with every step.

3. The Altar of Mists
At the highest point of Eidurn, an altar stands surrounded by swirling, unnatural mists. The altar’s surface is stained with a deep, rust-colored mark, and the mist seems to react to touch, curling around hands or objects as if alive.

4. The Vaulted Arch
A grand archway partially collapsed, leading nowhere. The stone is scorched black as if by fire, and the air beneath the arch is inexplicably colder than the surrounding area. Travelers report hearing faint footsteps when standing beneath it.

5. The Crypt of Echoes
Beneath the ruins lies a hidden crypt, its entrance obscured by rubble. Inside, the walls are lined with alcoves, each containing a single, silent figure cloaked in heavy cloth. Any noise made within the crypt echoes back distorted, as though mimicked by unseen mouths.

6. The Warden’s Tower
A solitary, rectangular structure standing apart from the rest of the ruins. The walls are marred with claw-like marks, and the floor inside is littered with bones, some clearly human. At night, the wind passing through the tower creates a low, mournful howl.

7. The Silent Courtyard
An open area surrounded by jagged remnants of walls. The courtyard is unnervingly silent—no wind, no animal sounds, only the muffled sound of one’s own movements. Strange, spiraling marks are worn into the ground, as if left by centuries of pacing feet.

8. The Obsidian Shrine
A small, darkened chamber tucked away within the ruins. A smooth, obsidian-like stone rests at the center, its surface unnervingly warm to the touch. Reflections in the stone seem to linger longer than they should, occasionally showing scenes not present in the room.
